I've been working on this mixtape over the course of our shared time in lockdown, I had vaguely planned to release it either now or next month for bandcamp day, and given the current circumstance I made an effort to get it ready for today so that I could funnel the funds towards a worthwhile cause in the Black Trans Protesters Emergency Fund, organised by BTFA. It's pay what you want and 100% of what is made today will go to help Black Trans protesters with resources, medical care and bail funds whilst we are all taking part in this incredible resistance. The record deals with ICE as a feeling of encroaching helplessness and isolation, and whilst the energy of the last week has thawed out those feelings to an extent in myself, we still have to return to those feelings as I'm sure I will, and in creating this work I've gone some way to exorcising and giving voice to that experience.
